Dirty stop-out (part 1)

Sleeping has become a favourite past-time, mainly because it took approximately 9 months to get into a satisfactory sleeping pattern in Japan (read: it took 9 months to achieve a good night's sleep). Recently it has been fabulous, partly due to the fact that the air-con is left all night to pump out a lovely 18 degree breeze (it is almost double this outside). So, the present situation is most unsatisfactory. Having been underwhelmingly busy it would appear that sleep is once again becoming a bit of a distant memory, although this time the causes are very different.

Last Thursday saw a trip to a different revolving sushi restaurant where many dishes were sampled, including one where the fish was lightly cooked with a blowtorch having been coated in soy sauce and mayonnaise. After a satisfactory nosh up the party moved to karaoke, albeit a few members down. Karaoke was enjoyable as usual, and this time less stressful following a return to room 11 where the songs are listed by artist, not song title. And then the evening was over and having cycled home in the dark it was time for bed. Falling asleep at 12am only to wake at 12:30 was not satisfactory, nor was the feeling of having had a fit (which it seems did not actually happen). To continually nod off and then to start gagging while asleep causing arousal (not in that way) is also hardly amusing. So the school teachers had to deal with a grumblesome ALT who didn't speak their language all day Friday. Shame.

And getting the wrong train to Kurashiki on Friday night didn't exactly spark delight either, causing arrival at the beer garden to be delayed by an hour, although it did result in free entry and free drinks... Briefly heading to Swlabr (rumour hs it that "Sula bar" is the correct pronunciation) before another trip to karaoke was a highlight, and at karaoke, a most inopportune place, sleep paid a visit. Or rather passing out paid a visit, and having been woken by Chad a taxi journey to his was followed by vomiting and drunken sleep. So classy.

On Saturday the first annual AJET olympics were being held, but that can wait to be reported on. Frankly it's much too hard to keep writing like this, so I'll write some more later. After all, there's another ruddy typhoon tonight so I'm not going to have much else to do, am I?
